We Can Only Learn from Others

“To know that we know what we know, and that we do not know what we do not know, that is true knowledge.”    Confucius (551 - 479 BC)

The first metre approach to lifelong learning requires understanding that we can only learn from others by our invitation. How we learn will depend on our preferred means. What we learn will depend on our curiosity. And the value of our learning will be related to how we use the new knowledge gained and convert it into know-how to be shared with others. The role of reflection is central to learning - it is part of nature's own improvement loop which is based on the 'work-rest-change' cycle, well known to athletes in training.

Under the heading of Documents, News and Links Management-NewStyle offers visitors to this site sources of reflection. There is background reading material contributed by associated consultants based on their experience with the principles of first metre working under the Documents link. Under the News link you will find notes and news items from the world of business, technology and process management.

And under Links you will find connections to other sites that we hope will be of interest and use to you.
